The association between chemical or environmental hazards and disasters is a constant in all modern societies. This is paradoxical, since probably no other science which has contributed more, simultaneously, to preserve the environment and human welfare.
In ete context, the various actors involved in the design, manufacture, marketing and use of chemicals (firms and entrepreneurs, technicians, researchers, policymakers, consumers ...) have acquired a clear awareness of the need to link the activities in this field with the preservation of the environment and natural resources, ie sustainable development. You do not just monitoring and remediation of environmental contamination processes that occur. The most efficient approach and greater long-term impact is that brings sustainable chemistry: the development of products, technologies, methodologies and clean chemical processes
Moreover, these methodologies, products and processes should be cost-effective, reliable by the transformation of existing chemical industries and the maintenance or improvement of the welfare levels of the companies involved. European industrial sectors involved in the manufacture, handling and processing of chemicals available today requires technicians capable of meeting these challenges to meet the social demand requires the development of cleaner technologies and to adapt to new European regulations each more demanding in this area
Official Postgraduate Programme in Sustainable Chemistry has interuniversity, contains the titles of Master of Sustainable Chemistry and Ph.D. in the same specialization and is based on the Inter-University Doctoral Program in Sustainable Chemistry, driven by the Spanish Network for Sustainable Chemistry, has been teaching for the past three years, with the mention of quality from the Ministry of Education and Science. The program is also supported by the Spanish Technology Platform on Sustainable Chemistry.
